Worst Day Ever
It all started with a case of bedhead hair. I couldn't make it to look right. As I was dashing out the door, I stumbled and badly all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was extremely behind schedule for work.

The rest of the day was just as bad. was a catastrophe. I stay awake.
By the time I reached my destination, I was exhausted. This day, this atrocious day will be forever remembered as the worst day ever.
Things Went From Bad to Absolutely Terrible
It Very bad all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
